April Recap: Foot Injury & Pens and Bullets Launch

So this happened. 

I fell down the stairs and sprained my ankle before the livestream rehearsal with Blodwen and apparently tore some ligaments in the process. 

Even after the fiery pain, we still did the rehearsal (which probably isn't the smartest thing to do...), and afterwards, I still managed to drive home using my left foot (yay me) AND climbed the stairs to get to my room.

That explained why the tear spread everywhere up to the lower part of my calf.

I learned how to walk and do daily activities with crutches (which is not fun). Now after 2 weeks since the injury, I am happy to say that I have now able to walk with just one crutch and climb up and down the stairs without support from other people.

​This whole experience has really taught me that the simplest things are the most important ones. It's actually a privilege to be able to do basic things like going to the toilet by ourselves and changing clothes etc; but this is the kind of privilege that we would not always have.

I had lots of conversations with my brother who became my driver these past few weeks (bless him), and we imagined that this must be how older people feel. It's an inevitable thing. People get older. And as we grow older, the things we can do independently decrease little by little. It's such a privilege I've always taken for granted, but this injury has really made me stop and think.

On a lighter note, I've launched a new IG account: Pens and Bullets.

I have been a bit nuts about Bullet Journals lately, and I think one of the main reasons for that is because I used to grow up loving stationery, drawing sketches, and reading. The bujo system spark my long lost passion once more, and I am loving every minute of it.

I wanted to document my journey in my bujo, and that's the initial reason I started Pens and Bullets.
