Starting a Bullet Journal

The bullet journal is the Analog System for the Digital Age."
--- Ryder Carroll / founder of the bullet journal system

I've just jumped into the Bullet Journal bandwagon about a week ago and have been a bit obsessed with it. Basically for those of you who haven't heard of this before, Bullet Journal is essentially a DIY planner. What makes it interesting though, is that you can totally customize it and insert pages that has nothing to do with work.

I'm using a grid Moleskine for my bullet journal. Of course in my favorite color: black.
For example, I inserted pages of 'Movies List', 'Emotion Tracker', and 'Blog Post Ideas' inside my Bullet Journal to make it less 'work' and more 'me'.

(If you are interested in how does it work, I suggest to check out the YouTube videos below. Feel free to ask further questions to me)

Ever since I started Bullet Journaling, I have realized that I am much less forgetful.

Mind you, I am the kind of person who can delay a chore for a year; but Bullet Journal has helped me to be more productive. Since I do enjoy doodling and writing, this is the perfect system for me to get organized, motivated, and an interesting alternative for art therapy.

While creating my own version of BuJo, I remembered the younger me who used to doodle and sketch obsessively with music playing in the background. I used to sit on my glass desk for hours and hours, forgetting to eat and drink, and just drew. Music and art have always been my way of coping with life; and every time things got hard, I always poured the 'demons' into melodies or gave them 'bodies' in paper and sketchbooks.

It's not an exaggeration if I said music and art kept me from going completely insane.

And then, one day, I grew up.

I spent less and less time to sit down and get lost in art. When I think about it, I can't remember the last time I spent any time at all in creating art. I still do write music, but I have 'abandoned' my art.

This BuJo might be a new beginning for me to revisit my old passion, or it might not be. I might even abandon it again someday; but for now I'm really enjoying my BuJo and I do recommend anyone who is interested in upgrading their 'system' to check it out as an option to self-upgrade.
